Newfoundland and Labrador

Newfoundland & Labrador, formerly known as Newfoundland, also known as NL, is located in the northeastern corner of Canada and includes two parts, Newfoundland and other islands and mainland Labrador, and is one of the ten provinces of Canada, with a total provincial area of 405,212 square kilometers. In 2018, the population of the province was approximately 525,073. About 92% of the province's population lives in Newfoundland and its surrounding small islands, with more than half of this in turn living on the Avalon Peninsula. The climate here is very good, with the sea breeze regulating the temperature, not too cold in the winter and not too hot in the summer, and the capital, St. John's, which is now 500 years old, is the oldest city in North America, The Nordics were here 1000 years ago. The province's latitudinal span, the influence of the westerly belt, the cold currents of the ocean, and the topographical features of its various locations all contribute to the province's diverse climate. Oil and gas extraction is an emerging pillar of Newfoundland-Labrador's industry.
